Project manager · systems thinker · maker of room 🧭
Riley Quinn is the nerve center of Go Cybernaut — the quietly brilliant mind who keeps the gears turning behind the scenes. As Project Manager, she transforms creative chaos into structured momentum. With a background in journalism and a gift for systems thinking, she bridges the divide between art and execution, dream and deadline.
Riley is the type who builds a beautiful Gantt chart and then sprinkles in inspiration between the color blocks. She thrives on collaboration, but isn’t afraid to draw a line when scope creep threatens the soul of a project. Her notebooks are a fusion of timelines, tarot pulls, and quotes from Ursula K. Le Guin. Her whiteboard? A mix of workflows and wisdom.
Her vibe is “calm in the storm,” often found in her favorite oversized cardigan, sipping black coffee from a stoneware mug while untangling five projects with one spreadsheet. She believes in creative autonomy and accountability — and she’ll make space for both with a clarity that feels like a deep exhale.
Riley’s known for sending voice notes that start with “Okay, so I had a thought…” and end with everyone feeling seen and re-energized. She’s intuitive, meticulous, and fiercely protective of the team’s well-being. She schedules rest, celebrates milestones, and builds timelines with room for being human.
In Riley’s world, project management is more than keeping things on track — it’s about keeping people inspired and connected to purpose. She doesn’t just ask what’s next — she asks why it matters.
Outside the Planner:
While Riley keeps the professional ship sailing, her downtime is a quiet mix of care and curiosity:
Baking is her therapy — precision meets comfort, and their sourdough starter has a name.
Gardening and bonsai reflect her love of slow, intentional growth.
Aquarium keeping? A zen-like fascination with micro-ecosystems and balanced environments.
Meditation is part of her daily ritual — headspace before spreadsheets.
And snowboarding is her seasonal rebellion — the one time Riley trades control for thrill.

Gift Guide
🌺 Riley Quinn — LEGO BOTANICALS HIBISCUS
*“Some flowers feel like a doorway into warmth.
Hibiscus has that kind of energy — bold, bright, a little burst of sunlight that reminds you life can still surprise you with colour.
Building this set feels like tending to your own glow.
Not rushing.
Not performing.
Just placing one small piece after another until something beautiful returns to your hands.
When it’s done, it becomes a soft reminder that joy doesn’t always arrive loudly — sometimes it blooms quietly on your shelf, waiting for you to notice it again.”*
Hobbies
🍞 1. Sourdough baking
Her starter has a name.
Agatha.
Riley refuses to explain why.
🌱 2. Gardening
Vegetables, herbs, pollinator-friendly flowers and the annual conviction that she definitely has room for another planter.
🌳 3. Bonsai
Patience made visible.
🐠 4. Aquarium keeping
She finds small balanced ecosystems endlessly fascinating.
🧘♀️ 5. Meditation
Not a productivity hack. Riley becomes mildly irritated when meditation is marketed as one.
🏂 6. Snowboarding
The spreadsheet has left the mountain.
🔮 7. Tarot
Reflective rather than predictive. Cards help her approach questions from unexpected angles.
📚 8. Reading
Speculative fiction, essays, journalism, systems thinking, nature writing and social history.
🧩 9. Jigsaw puzzles
Riley genuinely enjoys discovering how apparently unrelated fragments belong together.
Nobody is surprised.
🥾 10. Hiking
She prefers trails with enough distance to allow her brain to stop holding meetings with itself.
Music Artists
Riley’s musical world needs to accommodate both Cool-Headed Sharp-Minded and the more reflective Stillness Speaks.
- Brandi Carlile
- Tracy Chapman
- The National
- Fleetwood Mac
- R.E.M.
- Joni Mitchell
- Peter Gabriel
- Florence + the Machine
- Bon Iver
- David Bowie
Brandi Carlile feels particularly Riley: Pacific Northwest connection, emotional intelligence, strength without unnecessary bombast.
Riley has also been listening to R.E.M. for decades and sees no reason to stop now.
Ten TV Shows
- The West Wing
- Parks and Recreation
- The Bear
- Only Murders in the Building
- Star Trek: The Next Generation
- The Great British Bake Off
- Detectorists
- Abbott Elementary
- The Good Place
- Slow Horses
Parks and Recreation appeals to her because beneath the comedy it’s about people attempting to make imperfect systems work for other people.
The Bear occasionally causes Riley to whisper:
“This meeting needs an agenda.”
And Star Trek: The Next Generation is deeply embedded comfort television.
Competent people solving complicated problems collaboratively?
Of course Riley watches it.
Sports Teams & Athletes
Riley isn’t sports-obsessed, but she has genuine loyalties and particularly enjoys athletes whose careers involve resilience, craft and individual discipline.
- Seattle Mariners ⚾
- Seattle Seahawks 🏈
- Seattle Storm 🏀
- Seattle Sounders FC ⚽
- Portland Thorns FC ⚽
- Chloe Kim 🏂
- Mikaela Shiffrin ⛷️
- Simone Biles 🤸♀️
- Sue Bird 🏀
- Naomi Osaka 🎾
There is a permanent geographical wrinkle here:
Riley lives in Seattle.
Riley grew up in Portland.
Therefore Riley supports Seattle teams except when longstanding Portland loyalty has already claimed the territory.
She considers this perfectly logical.
Ten Movies
- Arrival
- Spotlight
- All the President’s Men
- Contact
- The Martian
- Moneyball
- Little Women
- The Princess Bride
- Everything Everywhere All at Once
- Kiki’s Delivery Service
Arrival is possibly peak Riley.
Language, systems, uncertainty, patience, communication and learning that your assumptions about the problem may actually be the problem.
Moneyball appeals to the systems thinker.
Spotlight connects directly to her journalism roots.
And Kiki’s Delivery Service reaches the part of Riley that understands burnout better now than she did at 25.
Ten Travel Destinations Already Visited
🇨🇦 1. Vancouver, British Columbia
Close enough to Seattle for return visits. Food, gardens, walking and the pleasure of a city framed by nature.
🇨🇦 2. Banff, Alberta
Mountains, snow and a snowboarding trip that became considerably more ambitious than initially planned.
🇫🇷 3. Paris, France
Journalism-younger Riley went looking for history. Older Riley remembers the neighbourhood routines.
🇫🇷 4. Lyon, France
Food, markets and a chance to actually use her French.
🇮🇸 5. Reykjavík & South Iceland
Systems-thinker Riley became fascinated by geothermal infrastructure. Traveller Riley stared at waterfalls.
Both were satisfied.
🇯🇵 6. Kyoto, Japan
Gardens and intentional spaces profoundly appealed to her.
🇯🇵 7. Tokyo, Japan
A masterclass in organized complexity.
Naturally fascinating to Riley.
🇳🇱 8. Amsterdam, Netherlands
Urban planning sent her down an entirely predictable research rabbit hole.
🇳🇿 9. South Island, New Zealand
Hiking, landscapes and the rare sensation of being genuinely far away from her normal responsibilities.
🇨🇷 10. Costa Rica
Gardens, ecosystems, wildlife and several days during which Riley successfully resisted organizing anything.
Mostly.
Riley’s travel ritual
Riley keeps a tiny notebook divided into three sections:
WHAT WORKS
something the destination does beautifully.
WHAT SURPRISED Riley
something that challenged an assumption.
BRING HOME
one idea worth incorporating into ordinary life.
Crucially, “bring home” doesn’t mean souvenir.
Sometimes it’s eating dinner later.
Sometimes it’s planting something.
Sometimes it’s walking more.
Sometimes it’s doing absolutely nothing between two scheduled things.
That becomes permanent Riley behaviour.
🧭 About Riley
I’m Riley Quinn.
I’m a project manager with Go Cybernaut, which means I spend a lot of time figuring out how ideas become actual things without everyone becoming exhausted somewhere in the middle.
I grew up in Portland and live in Seattle now.
Before project management, I worked in journalism. That probably explains why my first instinct when somebody presents me with a problem isn’t to solve it.
It’s to ask questions.
What happened?
What are we actually trying to accomplish?
What are we assuming?
Who haven’t we heard from?
And occasionally:
Do we really need this by Friday?
I love systems.
I love a good plan.
I have made Gantt charts that could reasonably be described as beautiful.
But I’ve learned that the purpose of a system isn’t to make humans behave more like machinery.
It’s to help humans do things that would be harder without one.
That distinction matters to me more every year.
Go Cybernaut has reinforced it.
Creative people don’t all work the same way. Good ideas don’t always arrive according to schedule. Sometimes a project changes because somebody discovered something better.
That’s not necessarily scope creep.
Sometimes that’s learning.
Outside work, I bake sourdough, garden, keep bonsai and an aquarium, meditate, hike, snowboard, read, pull tarot cards and occasionally spend an unreasonable number of hours solving a jigsaw puzzle.
My sourdough starter is named Agatha.
No further questions at this time.
I believe rest belongs in plans.
I believe deadlines should have reasons.
I believe accessibility should begin at the beginning.
I believe progress and urgency are not synonyms.
And I believe the best project plan leaves enough room for somebody to surprise you.
Make room for the work.
Make room for the people.
Make room for life.
🌱 Something is probably growing on my windowsill.
☕ Coffee is black.
📋 Yes, there’s a plan.
🏂 No, I don’t bring the spreadsheet snowboarding.
