DNA.Land
DNA.Land offers biogeographical analysis trait reports, imputation, and relative matching. You will need to create an account with the community-driven resource. Maintained by Columbia University academics and New York Genome Center affiliates.
Through DNA.Land you are able to explore your genome while scientists use the information towards new discoveries for the benefit of all.
I wasn’t able to find any relatives in the community but am sure that will change as more citizen scientists become involved with the site. The project is still growing so please be patient if your results seem quite basic at this time. Over time we will eventually connect with families and their kin.
The Trait Prediction is still quite basic covering Wellness Traits:
- Circadian Rhythm
- Coffee Consumption
- Educational Attainment
- Intelligence
- Neuroticism
Physical Traits:
- Eye Color
- Height
- Nearsightedness
For myself the results were right-on, except I could be a little taller according to my results. This is another feature I fell will grow as the program develops.
The Ancestry results were similar to those I received with my Ancestry DNA results, however DNA.Land broke these areas down a bit more specifically.
This is a beneficial site for those who are interested in learning about their genome, genetic ancestry, and the opportunity to participate in creating data towards positive ends.
