Personal Chronicle: July 4, 2025 – July 5, 2026 A gift for reflection. A record of now. A story for what’s next.
📝 “Who am I?”
I’m Jules Kramer. I’m not a phase. I’m not confused. I’m not here to make you comfortable.
I’m nonbinary, queer, tired, electric, hopeful, angry, and still here. I’m the kid who asked too many questions in 3rd grade and never learned to stop.
I’m the one who films everything—not to go viral, but to remember. To witness. To prove we existed.
I’m the friend who carries scissors, duct tape, and backup eyeliner. I’m the one who’ll fight for you even when you won’t fight for yourself.
I believe in chosen family. In softness as strength. In art as armor. In joy as protest.
I am not afraid to be loud anymore. I earned this voice. I intend to use it.
📝 “How did I get here?”
I got here through noise. Through pushback. Through the hushes and the looks and the side comments teachers pretended not to hear.
I got here by reading Audre Lorde and Ocean Vuong under my desk. By organizing when I should’ve been sleeping. By building a life with duct tape and defiance.
My mom tried. She didn’t always get it, but she stayed in the room. My dad… left before I had the language for myself.
I got here by holding space for others and forgetting to make room for myself. I got here by helping Eli when I didn’t know how to help myself. I got here by filming the protests they didn’t want us to hold. By speaking into microphones they tried to cut.
I still don’t know if I’m going to NYU. But I know I’m getting out.
Life has taught me this: You can’t wait for people to give you permission to exist. You have to take it. Loudly. And leave the camera running.
