Personality Profile:
Radiating charm and intuition, Lani is equal parts daydream and dynamo. Her playlist, Sunkissed & Soulful, is a reflection of her vibe—golden-era R&B, breezy pop, and soulful rhythms that shimmer with positivity. She’s the kind of person who sends voice notes instead of texts and always remembers your coffee order. Fiercely loyal and emotionally intelligent, Lani leads with empathy and celebrates the wins—big or small.
Team Dynamics:
Lani is closest to Simone Hart, often bouncing campaign ideas during their “brainstorm walks.” She’s the first to repost Riley Quinn’s productivity tips and regularly collaborates with Leo Campos on cross-channel promotions. She brings sunshine to the team’s group chat, lifts Kira Yoon’s SEO insights with aesthetic infographics, and even volunteers to test out Dylan Mann’s newest interactive stories.
Catchphrase:
“Let’s make it shareable and soulful.”
Her origin story?
It started with a Tumblr blog and a cracked iPhone. Lani was remixing memes, writing micro-poetry, and learning—post by post—how digital spaces build real-world impact. That early love turned into a career in digital marketing, content creation, and brand storytelling across corporate and cause-driven spaces.
Sun‑drenched optimism meets soulful depth—that’s Lani Cruz. Whether she’s sketching beach scenes in acrylics or scheduling the next viral hashtag, she’s always chasing the perfect balance of bright color, laid‑back rhythm, and genuine connection.
Signature catchphrase?
“Speak human. Post with purpose.”
Her north star?
“Be consistent. Be kind. Be real—people can feel it.”
🌬️ Whisper of Hope
“Even when the pace feels heavy, trust that joy has its own way of circling back to you. Care for yourself like you would for a friend.”
Outside the grid, Lani is:
A color-coding caption queen
Obsessed with finding “the perfect GIF” for every situation
The go-to for voice & tone decisions across the team
A weekend playlist curator and low-key karaoke champ
The one who can turn analytics into a meme and somehow make it motivating
In the off-hours:
Vivid creator: Weekend painting sessions inspire her bold color choices for story stickers and highlight icons.
Potterhead strategist: Her love of Harry Potter fuels themed engagement events (House‑cup polls; “Expecto Patronum” mental‑health check‑ins).
Air & sand enthusiast: Sunrise yoga, sunset kite flying, and competitive sand‑sculpting keep her grounded—and supply endless seaside visuals for the feed.
Analog audiophile: A growing collection of vintage vinyl guides her #ThrowbackThursday tracks, while crate‑digging trips double as trend‑scouting missions.
- Feline co‑star: Her mixed‑breed cat Coconut appears in behind‑the‑scenes stories, often curled beside spinning records or chasing kite strings—fans have come to expect the occasional #CoconutCameo.
Gift Guide
📸 — POLAROID MINI INSTANT CAMERA
“There’s something magic about a photo you can hold in your hands right away.
No filters, no endless retakes — just a real moment printed in seconds, soft edges and all.
That’s why I love this little Polaroid.
It turns everyday life into keepsakes:
a cozy morning, a silly grin, a quick snapshot with someone you love.
You press the button, and suddenly you’re holding a memory warm enough to keep.
It’s perfect for gatherings, adventures, or those quiet nights when you want to capture the small things that make life feel full.
And the best part?
People light up when they see a Polaroid come out.
Instant photos just… make everything feel more real, more shared, more us.
A gift for anyone who wants to collect moments, not just pictures.”

📘 Non-Fiction
The Next Conversation by Jefferson Fisher
An engaging guide to communicating with confidence, empathy, and clarity in every conversation. Its practical insights into listening, building trust, and creating positive interactions make it especially relevant for someone whose work is all about connecting communities online.
Why these picks?
As Go Cybernaut’s Social Media Manager, Lani helps conversations flourish and builds welcoming digital spaces. Her selections celebrate the art of connection through both memorable storytelling and thoughtful communication.
Bucket List Destination
There are places in the world that feel like postcards.
And then there is Waikīkī.
Not just beautiful, but alive—salt in the air, music drifting from somewhere you can’t quite see, warm trade winds moving through palm trees like old stories being retold. It is a place where sunrise feels ceremonial and sunset feels like everyone in the world decided to pause at once.
For Waikiki, beauty is only the first hello.
Music Playlists
In the Feed
There’s a difference between scrolling… and understanding what you’re seeing.
For Lani Cruz, the feed isn’t noise—it’s a living, breathing signal. Every loop, every caption, every trending sound carries a feeling people are trying to express.
In the Feed is her 2026 playlist:
20 tracks that didn’t just trend on TikTok and Instagram—they connected.
This is the sound of:
- GRWM confidence boosts
- late-night emotional edits
- glow-ups, soft moments, and shared energy
This is what the internet felt like.
The Golden Thread
In the Autumn: Weaving connection in every color, letting the pattern reveal itself in time.
“Connection is the pattern. Joy is the thread.”
Ten Hobbies
🎨 1. Acrylic painting
Especially saturated landscapes, flowers, skies and little fragments of ordinary life. Her paintings aren’t intended for an algorithm.
💿 2. Vinyl collecting
R&B, soul, pop, funk, disco and unexpected thrift-store discoveries. She reads liner notes.
📸 3. Instant photography
Her Polaroid obsession remains completely canonical. She loves photographs precisely because they cannot be endlessly perfected.
🧘♀️ 4. Sunrise yoga
One of the few parts of her day where notifications are unwelcome.
🪁 5. Kite flying
A wonderfully analogue antidote to spending her working life online.
🏖️ 6. Sand sculpting
Sometimes ambitious. Sometimes ridiculous. Always temporary.
🎤 7. Karaoke
Far less “low-key champ” than she claims.
🪴 8. Tropical gardening
Her balcony is steadily becoming a small botanical uprising.
📓 9. Visual journaling
Ticket stubs, Polaroids, pressed flowers, screenshots, paint swatches, overheard phrases and handwritten observations.
🐈 10. Coconut adventures
Coconut has graduated from pet to unofficial creative director, despite contributing primarily by sitting on whatever Lani currently needs.
Ten Music Artists
Lani’s musical identity is warm, rhythmic, culturally curious and broad enough to evolve beyond generic “sunny pop.”
- Sade
- Solange
- Anderson .Paak
- Corinne Bailey Rae
- Kali Uchis
- H.E.R.
- Bruno Mars
- Jhené Aiko
- Jill Scott
- Stevie Wonder
Sade is probably her forever artist.
But Stevie Wonder is the record she puts on when the apartment needs its soul rearranged.
Ten TV Shows
Her television taste combines character, culture, humour, visual storytelling, and people figuring themselves out.
- Abbott Elementary
- The Bear
- Insecure
- Only Murders in the Building
- Ted Lasso
- Never Have I Ever
- Somebody Somewhere
- The Good Place
- Gilmore Girls
- Queer Eye
Abbott Elementary is comfort viewing.
The Bear fascinates her professionally because she sees it partly as a study of communication: what people say, what they cannot say, and what happens in the gap.
Ten Sports Teams & Athletes
Lani isn’t a statistics encyclopaedia. Sports attract her through people, culture, community, spectacle and story.
- San Diego Padres ⚾
- San Diego Wave FC ⚽
- Los Angeles Lakers 🏀
- Golden State Warriors 🏀
- Hawaiʻi Rainbow Wahine volleyball 🏐
- Simone Biles 🤸♀️
- Naomi Osaka 🎾
- Coco Gauff 🎾
- Carissa Moore 🏄♀️
- Shohei Ohtani ⚾
Carissa Moore has particular significance to Honolulu-based Lani because surfing isn’t merely sport in her world. It’s connected to place, history, ocean and community.
Ten Movies
- Almost Famous
- Everything Everywhere All at Once
- The Devil Wears Prada
- Crazy Rich Asians
- Amélie
- 10 Things I Hate About You
- Little Miss Sunshine
- The Princess Bride
- Soul
- Roman Holiday
Her eternal rewatch is Almost Famous.
Music + journalism + flawed humans + nostalgia + trying to understand what authenticity means?
Extremely Lani.
Ten Destinations Already Visited
These aren’t a bucket list. They are now Lani’s established travel memories, giving us material to draw upon whenever she discusses these places.
🇺🇸 1. Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi
First visited before eventually moving there. The trip that refused to become merely a trip.
🇲🇽 2. Mexico City, Mexico
Art, neighbourhood wandering, colour, food, and an alarming number of photographs.
🇲🇽 3. Oaxaca, Mexico
One of her most personally meaningful journeys, particularly for craft, food, and cultural storytelling.
🇵🇭 4. Manila, Philippines
A family-connected journey that complicated her understanding of heritage in a good way.
🇵🇭 5. Palawan, Philippines
Water, boats, limestone landscapes and several days when her phone became almost irrelevant.
🇯🇵 6. Tokyo, Japan
Design heaven. She came home with stationery, records and approximately 900 photographs.
🇰🇷 7. Seoul, South Korea
Street style, cafés, design, beauty culture and digital culture fascinated Social-Media-Manager Lani.
🇵🇹 8. Lisbon, Portugal
Tiles, trams, music, neighbourhoods and golden light. Completely irresistible to her visual brain.
🇨🇷 9. Costa Rica
Wildlife, beaches, yoga and her first serious attempt at surfing.
🇨🇦 10. Vancouver, British Columbia
Food, neighbourhood exploration, art and one memorably productive rainy afternoon spent inside a record shop.
Her travel ritual
Every trip contributes something to her analogue travel journal:
one instant photograph + one handwritten observation + one piece of paper ephemera + one song associated with the journey.
That becomes permanent Lani behaviour.
🌺 About Lani
I work in social media, which means I’ve spent a slightly ridiculous portion of my life thinking about why somebody stops scrolling.
These days I’m more interested in why they stay.
I’m Lani Cruz, Social Media Manager, Digital Connector and Culture Translator with Go Cybernaut. I grew up in San Diego and now call Honolulu home, where Coconut and I share our space with too many records, several half-filled sketchbooks, an increasingly ambitious collection of plants and at least one camera that doesn’t connect to the internet.
I love the internet. Really.
I grew up there.
My first little corner of it was a Tumblr blog, a cracked iPhone and absolutely no idea that remixing images, writing tiny poems and talking with strangers about music was teaching me how digital communities work.
Eventually that curiosity became my profession.
But working with Go Cybernaut has changed the way I think about being online.
I used to believe good social media meant knowing exactly when to post, what was trending, what would stop the thumb and how to turn attention into momentum.
Those things still matter.
They just aren’t the whole story.
Because somewhere behind every reach number is a human being. Somebody eating breakfast. Somebody unable to sleep. Somebody celebrating. Somebody lonely. Somebody looking for one interesting thing that makes today feel slightly bigger.
That’s the person I’m interested in.
Away from work you’ll probably find me painting, crate-digging for records, photographing something ordinary because the light suddenly made it extraordinary, attempting yoga before Coconut occupies the mat, flying a kite, building something doomed out of sand, or singing considerably louder than necessary at karaoke.
Travel keeps rearranging my understanding of the world. Music keeps rearranging my understanding of myself.
And social media?
I’m still figuring that one out.
Maybe we all are.
But I know what I want my little corner of it to be:
Curious. Colourful. Human. Kind.
If you found your way here, pull up a chair.
Tell me what you’re listening to. 🌺
