Meet Miles

Miles is the four-legged member of the Go Cybernaut family.

A three-year-old black English Labrador Retriever with a sprinkling of white beginning on his chin, Miles lives in Nanaimo, British Columbia, with Gayle and Bob. He isn’t an AI-assisted editorial personality. He is quite emphatically a real dog, with his own opinions about walks, training, interesting smells, comfortable places to sleep, and the appropriate distribution of attention.

His official arrival in the wider Go Cybernaut universe happened in a particularly Cybernaut way: the team started including him.

When the Cybernauts began contributing to the Sounds Like Autumn feature, Miles found his way into their world too. At that point, pretending he was merely hanging around behind the scenes became increasingly difficult.

So Miles gets a profile.

His Place in the Continuum

Miles doesn’t write articles, manage projects, optimize search results, design graphics, or attend editorial meetings.

He contributes something different.

He is part of the lived world surrounding Go Cybernaut: the walks between working sessions, the interruptions that turn out to be useful breaks, the changing seasons outside the window, the neighbourhood sounds, the companionship beneath the desk, and the reminder that not everything meaningful needs to become productive.

In a project built around curiosity, welcome, connection, and creating a soft place for people to land, there is room for a Labrador.

Possibly several rooms.

Miles would probably like to inspect them first.

Personality

Miles is curious, attentive, affectionate, and increasingly interested in the larger world beyond home.

Indoor obedience comes naturally enough. Outdoors, where the universe has inconveniently supplied squirrels, people, dogs, leaves, smells, noises, and several thousand other things requiring immediate investigation, training becomes considerably more interesting.

His outdoor education continues with Gayle and Bob, with some welcome help from a neighbour.

Like any good Cybernaut, Miles is learning.

What Miles Brings to Go Cybernaut

Miles represents a small but important corner of the Go Cybernaut philosophy: life belongs inside the work.

A creative project doesn’t exist separately from morning walks, changing weather, friendships, animals, music playing in another room, cups of coffee, difficult days, good discoveries, or the ordinary rhythms that make a life.

Miles belongs to those rhythms.

He is not here because somebody invented a corporate mascot.

He is here because he was already here.

He is companion, observer, participant, occasional inspiration, and a living piece of the world from which Go Cybernaut is being built.
