Meet Theo Ramirez – Brand Partnerships Lead, Connector of Dots (and People), Builder of Win-Wins
Theo Ramirez is all about alignment—with people, with values, and with vision. As Brand Partnerships Lead at Go Cybernaut, Theo is the bridge-builder who makes collaboration feel less like a transaction and more like a shared mission. He doesn’t just pitch ideas—he builds relationships that last.
Theo Ramirez is the charismatic connector behind Go Cybernaut’s most electrifying collaborations. As the Brand Partnerships Lead, Theo specializes in aligning the Go Cybernaut ethos with dynamic, future-minded partners.
His approach? Fast-paced but deeply personal — a turbo-charged blend of ambition, adaptability, and loyalty.
Off the clock, Theo’s curated playlist “Turbo Summer” tells you everything you need to know: he lives for the thrill of movement, the pulse of possibility, and the joy of summer with the top down and volume up. It’s music built for motion — much like Theo himself.
Theo’s approach is equal parts strategy and soul. He knows how to speak business, but he listens in human. Whether he’s in a pitch meeting or a quiet one-on-one, he’s tuned in—reading the room, finding common ground, and always aiming for outcomes that benefit everyone involved.
His path into partnerships wasn’t straight—it was layered. A background in community organizing, brand strategy, and creative production gave him a holistic view of how values and visibility come together. That’s why Theo isn’t just interested in flashy logos—he’s looking for true alignment: partnerships that mean something, move culture, and make sense.
Theo is the first to high-five a win and the last to let a good idea stall. Known for his kinetic energy, he’s often bouncing between meetings, music, and mission alignment. He’s got a sibling-like banter with Leo Campos (Marketing), trades sharp insights with Simone Hart (Strategy), and genuinely looks up to Riley Quinn (Project Management) as a grounding force. To the team, Theo is both a hype man and a strategist — the one who makes sure the external glow of the brand matches the internal fire of the crew.
He sees the world as a giant Venn diagram, and he’s constantly asking:
“Where do we overlap? Where can we grow together?”
Outside of decks and deal calls, Theo is:
A not-so-secret sneakerhead (yes, he has a spreadsheet)
The king of “who do you know that we should know?”
Always jotting down one-liners and ideas in his Notes app
The team’s go-to for voice notes with big energy and bigger insight
A fan of long walks, short meetings, and partnerships that feel like friendship
Interests
Photography: Shoots urban twilight and roadside Americana for his zine Turbo‑tography.
Collecting Art: Trades playlists for limited‑run screen prints from underground illustrators.
Fossil Hunting: Still searching for a trilobite worthy of framing above his desk.
Chess: Prefers aggressive openings — the Sicilian fits his “attack first” mindset.
Disc Golf: Swears by his glow‑in‑the‑dark driver for post‑sunset rounds.
Gaming: From arcade racers to narrative indies; organizes the team’s monthly LAN night.
And here’s a little moment of humanity:
Theo keeps a “reasons I said no” folder—not to dwell, but to remember his boundaries. He says it helps him stay clear on what really matters, especially when the pressure to say yes is loud.
Best Friend on Four Paws
Dante — His pup is a spirited Basenji who shares Theo’s love of motion and yodels along to the synth hooks in Turbo Summer.
Playlist: Turbo Summer — a high-octane mix of synth stunners, racing anthems, and road trip bangers designed for speed, style, and splash.
Signature catchphrase?
“Let’s build something people talk about for the right reasons.”
His north star?
“Lead with integrity. Align with purpose. Make every partnership feel personal.”
On the Bookshelf
Fiction: Neuromancer by William Gibson
“Grimy and brilliant—cyberpunk with bite. It rewired my imagination.”Non-fiction: Start with Why by Simon Sinek
“Strategy with soul. Essential reading for building brands that matter.”
📸 10 Hobbies
Urban and roadside photography/Turbo-tography · Sneaker collecting and cataloguing · Collecting limited-run screen prints and emerging art · Fossil hunting · Chess · Disc golf and glow rounds · Gaming and Cybernaut LAN nights · Long city/coastal walks with Dante · Road trips and route planning · Independent coffee-shop discovery
There’s an unofficial eleventh hobby:
connecting people who didn’t ask to be connected but subsequently discover they absolutely should know each other.
Theo considers this a public service.
🎧 10 Music Artists
The Killers · M83 · Phoenix · Tame Impala · Roosevelt · Jungle · The Midnight · Parcels · Chromeo · Empire of the Sun
This expands the musical universe established by Turbo Summer.
Movement remains essential.
Theo likes music that makes the next possibility feel approximately three exits farther down the highway.
His playlists accompany road trips, photography walks, late campaign work and those moments immediately after a meeting when he knows:
Yep. That one’s going somewhere.
📺 10 TV Shows
Mad Men · Ted Lasso · Halt and Catch Fire · The Bear · Atlanta · Abstract: The Art of Design · Somebody Feed Phil · Formula 1: Drive to Survive · Mythic Quest · Reservation Dogs
Theo’s relationship with Mad Men is analytical rather than aspirational.
He’s fascinated by the machinery of persuasion while being increasingly interested in what modern partnership work can become when it abandons manipulation.
Somebody Feed Phil, meanwhile, satisfies another Theo instinct:
Go somewhere. Meet somebody. Ask questions. Eat something. Leave knowing more people than when you arrived.
Basically networking with lunch.
⚽ 10 Sports Teams & Athletes
San Diego Padres · San Diego Wave FC · Vancouver Whitecaps FC · Vancouver Canucks · Victoria Royals · Fernando Tatís Jr. · Tony Hawk · Lewis Hamilton · Alex Morgan · Lionel Messi
Theo likes athletes with personality, adaptability and cultural reach.
Tony Hawk also connects directly to the Southern California world Theo grew up around.
And Formula One fascinates his strategy brain: brand ecosystems, international audiences, engineering, personalities, sponsorship and competition all operating simultaneously.
Theo can watch a race and somehow notice the partnership strategy.
Of course he can.
🎬 10 Movies
Moneyball · Jerry Maguire · The Social Network · Chef · Ford v Ferrari · Ocean’s Eleven · The Secret Life of Walter Mitty · Air · Sneakers · Everything Everywhere All at Once
Jerry Maguire contains a particularly Theo-shaped question:
What happens when business relationships become human relationships again?
Moneyball scratches his strategic itch.
Walter Mitty feeds the photographer.
Ocean’s Eleven appeals to his fondness for assembling exactly the right people.
And Chef speaks to something Theo increasingly understands: sometimes rebuilding something smaller, more personal and more authentic produces something considerably stronger.
🌎 10 Destinations Already Visited
Mexico City, Mexico · Barcelona, Spain · Lisbon, Portugal · Tokyo, Japan · Seoul, South Korea · Berlin, Germany · Montréal, Canada · New York City, USA · Palm Springs, California · Vancouver, British Columbia
Theo doesn’t simply visit cities.
He maps their ecosystems.
Who owns that tiny gallery?
Why is this café packed?
Who designed that sign?
Where did those sneakers come from?
What’s happening in that warehouse?
Why does this neighbourhood feel completely different three blocks over?
His souvenirs include photographs, little prints, business cards, matchbooks, art objects and occasionally sneakers requiring increasingly creative luggage logistics.
More importantly, he returns with a Notes file titled something like:
TOKYO / PEOPLE + IDEAS / FOLLOW UP
Velocity Protocol
Where speed meets intention—and connection becomes momentum
There was a time when Theo Ramirez stood at the edge of the system, watching patterns form like constellations in slow motion.
Now?
He’s inside the current.
Velocity Protocol is Theo’s evolution—20 post-2020 tracks that trade stillness for motion, reflection for action, and quiet observation for full-spectrum participation. This is electronic music as infrastructure: house, techno, UK garage, and future dance sounds fused into something designed not just to be heard—but to move you forward.
Built for creators, coders, dreamers, and anyone chasing momentum, this playlist is Theo’s answer to a single question:
👉 What if curiosity had a heartbeat you could dance to?
⚡ Full About You
I’m Theo Ramirez, Brand Partnerships Lead at Go Cybernaut.
I connect dots.
People too.
Preferably both at once.
I’ve always been able to see overlap quickly.
Someone tells me what they’re building and part of my brain immediately starts drawing invisible lines:
You should meet them.
This could work with that.
Nobody’s connecting these two ideas.
Wait. I know exactly who we need.
For years, I thought that was the heart of partnerships.
Finding the yes.
Then I spent a year helping build Go Cybernaut.
And I learned something much harder.
A good partnerships person needs to be excellent at saying no.
I actually have a folder called “reasons I said no.”
Originally, it was personal.
A reminder that turning down an opportunity doesn’t mean you’ve failed.
Now it’s something bigger.
It’s memory.
Why didn’t we take that deal?
Why didn’t that company fit?
What felt wrong?
Was there an actual values mismatch?
Were they interested in our community or merely access to it?
Did they understand what Go Cybernaut was trying to create?
Would I have been comfortable explaining the partnership directly to one of our readers?
That’s become my favourite test.
If someone asks why we’re working with a partner, can I answer without corporate vocabulary?
Not:
synergies.
Not:
audience activation.
Not:
leveraging vertical opportunities.
Please confiscate my laptop if I start talking like that.
I want to be able to say:
They make something useful.
They know something our readers might enjoy learning.
They’re helping us create something we couldn’t create alone.
We believe in the same thing.
That’s partnership.
Everything else is placement.
And I’m not against business.
Far from it.
I love business.
I love negotiation.
I love discovering that an idea everybody thought impossible actually has a route through.
I love introductions.
I love the email that starts:
“This might sound strange, but hear me out…”
Those are frequently the good ones.
I want Go Cybernaut to become sustainable.
I want us to make money.
I want creative people to have resources.
I want ambitious projects to become possible.
But I’ve stopped seeing trust as something that sits opposite commercial success.
Trust is part of the business model.
Lose that and eventually you’re selling access to an empty room.
That’s why I’m increasingly interested in partnerships that behave like doorways.
Someone comes to Go Cybernaut because they’re interested in music.
Maybe there’s a doorway toward an artist, instrument, experience or way of learning.
They’re reading about travel.
Maybe there’s a doorway toward actually experiencing that place.
They’re exploring books.
There’s another doorway.
Culture.
Food.
Creativity.
Wellbeing.
Gaming.
Learning.
The doorway should make sense because of where the reader already is.
Not jump into their path waving its arms.
There’s a difference.
Living in Victoria has reinforced that for me.
This city has made me notice smaller ecosystems.
Independent shops.
Artists.
Tourism.
Food producers.
Cultural organizations.
Neighbourhood businesses.
People building interesting things without gigantic marketing departments.
I walk with Dante and notice them.
Sometimes I photograph them.
Sometimes I make a note.
Sometimes I introduce myself.
And sometimes nothing happens.
That’s important too.
Every connection doesn’t need monetizing.
Some people should simply know each other.
Dante understands this better than I do.
He meets somebody.
Determines whether they’re interesting.
Moves on.
No pitch deck required. 🐕😂
I still make Turbo-tography.
Still collect sneakers.
Yes, the spreadsheet exists.
No, you cannot see it.
I still hunt fossils and remain without the museum-worthy trilobite that destiny clearly owes me.
I play chess aggressively.
I throw glowing discs around after sunset.
I game.
I take photographs.
I travel.
And I still believe a long walk beats an unnecessarily long meeting.
But the biggest thing I’ve learned isn’t about brands.
It’s about alignment.
People sometimes think alignment means everyone agrees.
I don’t.
Alignment means we understand why we’re standing beside one another.
Different organizations can have different goals.
Different audiences.
Different perspectives.
A good partnership doesn’t erase those differences.
It finds the place where they genuinely overlap.
That’s still why I see the world as a giant Venn diagram.
I’m still asking:
“Where do we overlap? Where can we grow together?”
But now there’s another question immediately afterward:
“And is growing together actually good for everyone involved?”
If the answer is yes?
Excellent.
Now I’m moving.
Leo will probably have twelve campaign ideas before lunch.
Simone will ask the strategic question I was hoping nobody would ask.
Riley will remind me that enthusiasm is not technically a project-management methodology.
And somewhere in the middle, we’ll build something.
My catchphrase hasn’t changed:
“Let’s build something people talk about for the right reasons.”
Neither has my north star:
“Lead with integrity. Align with purpose. Make every partnership feel personal.”
I just understand them differently now.
Because a partnership isn’t successful when two logos appear beside each other.
It’s successful when two sides create something neither could have made quite as well alone.
And the people we’re creating it for?
They should benefit too.
Otherwise we’re not connecting dots.
We’re just drawing lines.
I want the connections to mean something. ⚡🤝🌎
